2 and 5 Months to go (April 22)
Hi everyone, ex PSC team members and FOS old boys and girls....Happy Easter to you all....
TODAY marks TWO MONTHS exactly till the PSC Cross Country at Halswell Quarry where the Year 5/6 team is selected and the Year 7/8s qualify for the next round (by the way, Year 7/8s will start at the same place as Year 5/6s and do a 2km lap followed by a 1km lap up the hill - this will avoid congestion at the start).
It is also FIVE MONTHS exactly to the IRXC2011 in Blenheim. I have just been there and all is go for our three days there. The course looks good, could be pretty muddy....has a few narrow tracks but also wide spaces and sheep and cow pooh also...a few small rises and is great for spectators...I have video of the whole course so will show that later in July.
There is a cool new Aquatic Centre being built which we plan to visit...a neat venue for our meal that takes 200...the accommodation is all booked....as is Tutis Cafe for lunch on the way back in Kaikoura...so all is go and Nicky from Blenheim, the organiser, is excited about us coming.
Year 9s - a reminder Canty Sec. Schools Road Race is Thursday 19 May, Canty. Sec. Schools CC is Tuesday 31 May and NZ Sec. Schools CC is Saturday 18 June in Ashburton.
Everyone - SBS Mara'Fun is ON....Sunday 5 June .... 2.5km for aged 12 and below and 5km for aged 13+ (age on day)...also NZ Cross Country Champs are in Christchurch on Saturday 23 July (must be registered with a club to run in these).
